Picks From Peter King's Ass - Super Bowl

Well Super Fans, it is time again for the big game. This is the last time you are going to see us for a while, so get yourself a nice Meadowview and enjoy the Sunset. We are very excited about this match-up. Two very solid teams. One that has dominated all year, the other got hot at the right time and has been putting away each "superior" opponent for the past three games. Can Eli keep it together for one more game? Can the Giants stout D-line get to Brady and mess up the passing attack? Will Brady's ankle upset the Pat's throwing game? Can Tom Coughlin really stay in a game against a two week prepared Bill Belichick? How many late/dirty hits will Rodney Harrison have? How many chicks will melt in their pants when they see Tom Brady? How big of a TV can you rent for a month just so that you can have a big screen TV to watch the big game? These questions, and many more, will be answered in just a few short days. Now sports fans, onto the game…..

I think we have a shot at a great game here. The Pats come in with 18 straight victories. The Giants have played as well as anyone the past 4 weeks. The teams saw each other in the final game of the season and NY traded blows with NE as well as anyone has this year. There are some great match-ups in this game: NE's o-line against NY's d-line, NY's rushing attack against the AARP NE linebacker core, the Pat's receivers against NY's DBs, and on and on. Everyone wants to look at the Pats and give them an edge because they have been there 3 times already, but do not forget how much turnover there is in the NFL. There are only four people on the Pats squad who have been there since the beginning. Another group of people want to give the Giants the nod because of how well they have played the last few weeks and liken this Giant team to the Patriots team of 2001 that came in as huge underdogs and beat the "unbeatable" St. Louis Rams. You could make a strong argument for either team, which to me says that 12 points is too many. This game should stay tight throughout. There is firepower on both sides of the ball, which may lead you to believe that this will be a shoot out, but I do not think that is going to happen. I think both coaches gear up on the defensive side of the ball and make this a tight game. The Giants are going to want to control the clock, with a big helping of Brandon Jacobs, to keep Brady and company off the field. The Pats are going to have to dink and dunk there way down the field to avoid NY's pass rush. This should keep the game tight and interesting throughout the game.

Pick: NY +12
Frankie Meadowview says take Plax's prediction and put it on the money line of NY Giants +325.

Picks From Peter King's Ass - Championship Weekend

Frankie Meadowview here hoping you followed his picks last week and made as much money as I did, after going 4-4 in the Divisional Round, I hope to follow it up with two great picks for Championship weekend!

AFC: San Diego +14 @ New England
After a big win last week in Indy, I think the Bolts will keep it close but eventually fall to the Pats in a closely fought battle.

NFC: NY Giants +7 @ Green Bay
Coming off two road playoff wins, look for the Giants and Packers to both establish the run early and often in this game thats calling for wind chills of below zero.

Picks From Peter King's Ass - Divisional Round

Divisional Round

Welcome back ladies and gents, it has been awhile, but we are back in full force this week for the Divisional Round. Child paternity suits and horrible drug addictions have kept us from writing the past few weeks, but we are pretty sure that is all behind us now. By the way, if anyone asks, I was definitely NOT in Tijuana last weekend, and if by some chance you were, that person I was with swore that she was a woman. Anyway, without further ado, the Divisional picks…

Game 1: GREEN BAY +7.5 over Seattle

I went back and forth on this one because I am afraid a strong Seattle pass rush may get to Favre and force a number of questionable throws. I was also mildly impressed with Seattle's win over the Skins last week. Then I looked at Seattle's schedule. During the regular season, Seattle only beat one playoff team (Tampa Bay in the first game of the year). They also had a poor road record losing to Arizona, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Carolina, and Atlanta. These things considered, and also factoring in GB's explosive offense and tough D, we are going with GB.

Final Score: GB 28 Seattle 14

Game 2: Jacksonville +13 over NEW ENGLAND

This is another tough pick. NE blew out most of their opponents this year but I feel Jacksonville's style of play should be a tough match-up for NE. Jacksonville can pound the ball (which should be effective against an aging, slower LB unit for NE) to keep Brady and company off the field. Also, Gerrard has done a good job protecting the ball all year. I feel this combination should keep the game close even though NE will still win.

Final Score: NE 24 Jax 17

Game 3: INDIANAPOLIS -9 over San Diego

Philip Rivers runs his mouth better than he runs SD's offense. Granted, Tennessee has a solid D, but SD put up a whopping 0 points in the first half last week. This is another team that you need to go back and look at their schedule to see how they were able to get into the playoffs. SD played in the atrocious AFC West and only had one win over a playoff team (they beat Indy when Peyton threw 6 interceptions and Vinatieri missed a 30 yard field goal). Indy has had a few weeks to rest and Marvin Harrison makes his return, which means bad news for SD. Colts win this one easy.

Final Score: Indy 35 SD 10

Game 4: New York Giants +7.5 over DALLAS

Dallas should be able to pull out a win here, but it should be a close game. The Giants play very well on the road and Eli has been looking like a legit NFL QB the last few weeks against very solid defenses. Expect another solid game by Eli. TO still appears to be banged up which is going to effect the play calling for Dallas. If the Giants can pound the ball with Jacobs and play-action pass down the field against Dallas' suspect DBs, the Giants should be able to keep this one close. Look for a tough, close ballgame this Sunday.

Final Score: Dallas 35 NYG 31
